Early childhood education is the foundation at which schooling starts. While it may seem as though the children are playing games and sharing stories, there is a lot that goes on in those few moments of play. These experiences help a child in many ways, including their social skills and motor skills. Another way that your child continually learns at Wollaston Child Care is through our Enrichment Programs.
Enrichment programs create an environment that allows children to explore the world in different ways. At Wollaston Child Care, we know that understanding the world and the differences in it is key to a better future. Children are also often related to as sponges. They can absorb a lot of information and retain it for the most part. By allowing them to engage in programs that are at their skill level and exposing them to different cultures, music, and languages, we find that many times the children can have an excellent early childhood education experience. Currently, we offer two different enrichment courses: a language course and a religion course.
Mandarin Class
In today’s culturally and linguistically diverse word, it is extremely beneficial for children to speak more than one language. At Wollaston Child Care, we strive to support children reach this goal by offering a Mandarin class twice each week to all of our preschoolers. The children learn Mandarin as they participate in developmentally appropriate songs, games, and stories. Plus, to keep it simple, we associate everyday activities with the new language. Bible Story Time
Some families enjoy knowing that their children are receiving an early religious foundation and are being exposed to different perspectives on life. Our optional Bible stories program does just that.
The Pastoral staff of the Wollaston Lutheran Church will be introducing the children who participate to simple Bible Stories along with some great music. Some of the songs you may remember from your own childhood. Our children are sure to have a great time while learning some of our favorite stories. Each child views the stories differently, which makes it fascinating to see what happens when they get talking. These stories are something different than what they experience every day.
Our enrichment courses help to make the Wollaston Child Care Center unique.
